Bob Grainger


Bob is a Chartered Physiotherapist who graduated in 2001 from the University of East London. After working for the NHS for four years he moved to work for Army Primary Healthcare for four and a half years, treating sports and training injuries. This has seen him successfully treat many Army, Combined Services and Team GB athletes.

In 2009 he completed his Masters Degree in Advanced Physiotherapy Sports and Performance at Kings College London.

In 2010 and 2011 he was the Lead Physiotherapist for Sky Professional Cycling Team. He travelled around Europe and as far as Oman and Qatar with the team treating the riders’ injuries and also performing comprehensive musculoskeletal profiling and issuing prehabilitation programmes to help prevent injuries. In this role he also worked for British Cycling in Manchester. He treated many Olympic medal athletes during this work. As well as undertaking the physiotherapy role in the team he was also part of the bike fitting team, involved with ensuring that the riders were in the most optimal position for professional racing.

Bob has worked with Powerlifters who have been UK, European and World Champions as well as World Record holders in their discipline. He has also worked for the Peterborough Phantoms Ice Hockey Club during their treble winning season in 2009. His work at the Bodywize gym has seen him treating athletes in the local area from tennis, running, cycling, triathlon, hockey, football, rugby, track and field athletics, swimming, skiing, Powerlifting and kite surfing backgrounds.

Bob is a keen sportsman himself – playing tennis, running, cycling and is regularly involved in strength and conditioning activities to keep himself fit and injury free! Having previously been injured he knows how detrimental it can be to be in pain and how frustrating it is not to be able to play your sport or train.

He is a member of Chartered Society of Physiotherapists, The Health Professions Council as a Physiotherapist, a Member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapists in Sports Medicine, the Acupuncture Association of Chartered Physiotherapist, Physiofirst and a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist.
