Kinesiology Tape

Kinesiology Tape £10

Kinesiology tape has been around for many years, it was developed in Japan, by Dr. Kenzo Kase in 1979. It is a thin, stretchy, elastic cotton strip with an acrylic adhesive.

Although the tape we use is engineered to meet the demands of endurance athletes like runners, swimmers and cyclists, it can benefit a wide variety of musculoskeletal and inflammatory conditions.

Kinesiology tape can be used both to apply compression to promote recovery, or decompression to relieve pain and swelling.

When applied over a stretched muscle kinesiology tape lifts the skin, accelerating blood flow to increase the amount of oxygen available to the muscles, which reduces fatigue. It also promotes lymph drainage to remove toxins produced by the body during hard efforts. These combined effects are powerful: they allow the athlete to go harder for longer periods of time. It can be applied to very specific areas of the body such as shoulders, knees and joints.
